SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Product Analyst owns the initial requirements and overall documentation on minor features to support Product Managers within a defined product offering such as Contingent Workforce, Services Procurement (including ICC), or Resource Tracking. The Product Analyst translates raw requirements to further define ideas & collaborate with the Product Managers on a vision that frames a work item within the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC).  The Product Analysts’ partnership with the Product Managers will help support and deliver detailed design documents to the UI/UX team that align with client and industry requirements. 

The Product Analyst role is accountable for requirements gathering, design documentation delivery, and continual support of the Product Managers within their specific product offering while working cross-functionally within the Product Management team.  The Product Analyst will support the Product Manager in feature meetings with both Design and Development teams as well.  The Product Analyst role is also instrumental in supporting testing via script creation, walkthroughs of new features with the Product Managers, and bug submission.  The Product Analyst will also test fixes and report back to the Product Managers and Director of Technology as needed.  The role should also conduct research on competitive differentiators and coordinate with the Product Managers to deliver a matrix defining those features.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with relevant industry and domain experience, capable of understanding complex business requirements as well as a solid understanding of the Product Development and Software Development lifecycle.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS (each duty and function listed indicates % of time to total 100%):

  • Product Strategy and Vision (20%)
    • Support over a defined product offering.
    • Contribute to the product vision and roadmap of defined product offering alongside the Product Manager of that product offering.
    • Assist in execution of the product roadmap aligned with the defined product offering.
    • Define feature-level vision aligned to the broader product strategy set by the Senior Product Manager or Product Management Leadership.
  • Product Design, Delivery, & Execution (20%)
    • Lead the design of defined product offering (e.g. Services Procurement/ICC) features post-requirements gathering by partnering with the UX team in design planning and refinement.
    • Prioritize tasks within the team, ensuring features are developed according to customer feedback.
    • Ensure releases meet usability, compliance, consistency, and performance standards and validate release readiness.
    • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and effective feature delivery.
    • Support Development partner by helping to define detailed user stories and feature specs; manage product backlog and day-to-day execution.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration (15%)
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at a domain level with participation in high-level strategy and roadmap discussions.
    • Participate in cross-functional team meetings, ensuring product requirements are met coming from VoC (voice-of-the-customer), implementation, client services, sales, and other internal teams.
  • Customer Focus (10%)
    • Understanding of how VMS applications operate, are structured, and how customers use them.
  • Product Lifecycle Management (10%)
    • Manage the day-to-day aspects of feature releases and improvements.
  • Market & Business Alignment (10%)
    • Support marketing, sales, and customer success teams by implementing product strategies and ensuring smooth execution.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving (5%)
    • Identify risks within specific features and products, solving issues in daily development processes.
  • Metrics & Analytics (5%)
    • Gather VMS specific feedback from the application, monitor product metrics, track and analyze feature performance (Jira epics); use data to inform iterations and further drive enhancements.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned (5%)
    • E.g. – attend daily stand-up meetings with offshore Product Management team

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (each function listed indicates % of time):

  • Data analysis and ad-hoc analysis (10%)
    • Pull together analytics efficiently when key decisions need to be made.
    • Answer questions from PRODUCT MANAGERs, Design, Development and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Functional bridge supporting PRODUCT MANAGERs between UI/UX Design and Development (10%)
  • Translate requirements into design documents as needed for delivery to UX team.  (10%)
  • Ensure design feasibility by collaborating with both UX designers and frontend/backend developers. (10%)
  • Define or assist with simple use cases to support user stories as needed. (10%)
  • Component and Design System Implementation: (10%)
    • Advocate for consistent design patterns and accessibility standards.
  • Functional & Technical Feasibility Reviews: (10%)
    • Participate in design reviews and provide input on the overall feasibility of design concepts.
    • Suggest design adjustments when needed to align with functional constraints.
  • Business analysis: (10%)
    • Quantify the business impact of product opportunities.
  • Feature measurement: (10%)
    • Research and coordinate with PRODUCT MANAGER a competitive differentiation matrix.
    • Assess whether a new feature produced its intended outcome after delivery.
  • Communicating Insights:(10%)
    • Translate complex analysis into a clear recommendation for the PRODUCT MANAGER.
    • Act as a liaison during handoffs, helping document interactions and edge cases.
    • Communicate effectively across design, development, and product teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The primary duties of this position are performance and execution of business operational requirements of the Company. This position’s primary duties include the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance while designing and developing a next-generation VMS application.  The position will also support future enhancements to the system as well as assisting with testing, bug submissions, change requests, and other work items to funnel content to downstream teammates.  The Product Analyst will act as decision partners to Product Managers, combining analytical rigor with product and business judgement.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • A Bachelor’s degree - in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training considered.
  • 3 - 7 years of software (Saas specifically) experience, with an emphasis on VMS, ERP, or CRM applications being beneficial.
  • 5+ years of industry related experience in product management, software implementation, or a client services or customer success related role.
  • Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar tools).

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.  Ability to present information effectively and to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

COMPUTER/SYSTEM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of computers including Windows environments, email, and the internet.  Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, OneNote, and Visio.  Ability to quickly learn AgileOne proprietary technology.  Prior use of Jira, Figma, Smartsheet, and Lucid are beneficial.
