SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SOW / IC Service Procurement Contract Specialist supports AgileOne’s client services procurement function by assisting with the preparation, audit, and advisement of contractual documents. This role evaluates agreement terms and contract structure within client’s company policy and procedures, identifies potential contract risks, or issues, and provides recommendation for resolution. In this role, the specialist partners closely with buyers and suppliers to support the accurate interpretation and practical application of specific contractual matters. Additionally, the position provides ongoing support for AgileOne’s Independent Contractor (IC) Compliance program, helping to ensure regulatory adherence, risk mitigation, and consistent compliance practices across engagements.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS (each duty and function listed indicates % of time to total 100%):
- Statement of Work Service Vendor Contract Support (60%)
- Support the review, drafting, terms negotiation, and client’s execution of third-party services procurement contracts. (15%)
- Audit, assess, and author supporting interpretation / recommendations of reviewed contracts based on application of client’s contractual guidelines and policy standards. (10%)
- Present and justify contract interpretation findings with client program stakeholders, buyers, engagement managers, and suppliers as required. (10%)
- Develop comprehensive understanding of the client’s service procurement needs, categories purchased, and governing contracting agreements. (5%)
- Partner and develop working relationships with client’s program sponsors, procurement, and legal department personnel. (5%)
- Function as a “point person” for the collection of information and feedback from various functional groups (e.g., procurement, buyers, suppliers, etc.) during the contracting process. (5%)
- Provide recommendations to enhance the contracting process and support client’s requests to update and distribute contract templates as required. (5%)
- Utilize and become proficient within client’s contracting system(s) and/or program Vendor Management System (VMS) in the performance of contract specialist duties. (5%)
- Independent Contractor Compliance Support (in addition to the duties above) (35%)
- Solicit and gather information from client managers and prospective independent contractors to support the compliance evaluation process. (15%)
- Develop and maintain Independent Contractor (IC) defense files and determine appropriate worker classification based on the results of documented risk assessment profiles. (10%)
- Provide timely and professional responses to inquiries from clients and prospective contractors throughout the Independent Contractor compliance evaluation lifecycle. (5%)
- Maintain and update the Independent Contractor compliance knowledge base to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with evolving policies and requirements. (5%)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The primary duties of this position are performance and execution of business operational requirements of the Company. This position’s primary duties include the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.

- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of contract drafting, auditing, or negotiation experience, preferably within the Information Technology and Services industry
- Knowledge of service contracting agreements, provisions, and standard marketplace terms / clauses
- Working knowledge of independent contractor evaluation methodologies, classification considerations, and risk mitigation controls.
- Must have prior customer service experience with direct interaction with project / services buyers and suppliers
- Experience with Service Procurement (VMS) Systems and Contingent Staffing Programs is preferred
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIRED (written & verbal):
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to present information effectively and to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
COMPUTER/SYSTEM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of computers including Windows environments, email, and the internet. Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Visio. Ability to quickly learn AgileOne proprietary technology.
