SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technical Solutions Engineer partners closely with UX, Product Management, and Project Management teams to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions. This role focuses on defining system architecture, designing scalable solutions, and establishing logic and rule-based automation within applications. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, capable of understanding detailed business logic and regulatory complexities to ensure efficient, scalable, and a user-centric application development process.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS (each duty and function listed indicates % of time to total 100%):
- Solution Design & Architecture (25%)
- Collaborate with UX to understand user needs and business scenarios, designing technical solutions that simplify complex business rules into intuitive user experiences.
- Develop and document technical architectures that support dynamic logic, conditional rules, and inheritance of business parameters across organizational hierarchies.
- Technical Collaboration with UX and Product Teams (15%)
- Partner directly with UX Designers and Product Managers to brainstorm, refine, and validate the technical feasibility of new product features and enhancements.
- Act as the technical counterpart to UX, providing input on user journey feasibility, performance impacts, and technical dependencies.
- Technical Implementation & Oversight (15%)
- Guide and oversee the technical implementation performed by offshore or external development teams, ensuring alignment with solution design and architecture.
- Perform code reviews and quality checks to ensure solutions adhere to technical standards, scalability, and maintainability.
- Strategic Problem Solving (10%)
- Analyze complex regulatory and business logic to devise simplified, reusable technical patterns.
- Recommend and implement efficient methods to manage data-driven business rules and conditional logic.
- Technical Thought Leadership (10%)
- Advise leadership on emerging technologies, architectural improvements, and strategic technical investments to continuously enhance application capabilities.
- Applies innovation, passion, flexibility, adaptability and initiative in daily activities to contribute to a Systems culture that clearly reflects these ideals (10%)
- Understand how our applications operate, are structured, and how customers use them (10%)

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Bridge between UI/UX Design and Development.
- Translate design mockups and prototypes into production-ready code.
- Ensure design feasibility by collaborating with both UX designers and frontend/backend developers.
- Component and Design System Implementation:
- Build and maintain reusable UI components and design systems.
- Advocate for consistent design patterns and accessibility standards.
- Prototyping and Validation:
- Work closely with designers to iterate based on user feedback and usability testing
- Technical Feasibility Reviews:
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on the technical feasibility of design concepts.
- Suggest design adjustments when needed to align with technical constraints.
- Performance and Accessibility:
- Confirm that UI components meet performance and accessibility standards.
- Cross-Functional Communication:
- Act as a liaison during handoffs, helping document interactions and edge cases.
- Communicate effectively across design, development, and product teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The primary duties of this position are performance and execution of business operational requirements of the Company. This position’s primary duties include the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of Technical Solutions Engineer experience in software architecture or senior software development experience, particularly in roles requiring close collaboration with UX and Product teams.
- Deep expertise in modern web development technologies, specifically React, Next.js, Node.js, NestJS, Fastify, Mongoose, AWS-SDK, and MongoDB.
- Demonstrated experience designing and architecting complex applications leveraging dynamic, data-driven logic and rules engines.
- Proficient in database schema design and performance optimization using MongoDB.
- Experience managing code reviews and technical oversight for development teams, including offshore teams.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar frameworks)
- Familiarity with cloud architecture (AWS, AWS CloudFormation, AWS SDK, AWS Fargate)
- Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar tools)

COMPUTER/SYSTEM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Working knowledge of computers including Windows environments, email, and the internet.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and Visio.
- Ability to quickly learn AgileOne proprietary technology.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Understanding of UX principles and accessibility standards
- Experience with version control (Git), prototyping tools, and component libraries
